Rusty Campos has more than twenty years of experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative market research. His principal focus has been in the areas of information technology and telecommunications. His experience includes management positions in marketing research for Hewlett-Packard and U S WEST, as well as assignments from leading companies in these industries. INDUSTRIES His information technology experience includes market research on topics such as electronic commerce, Web hosting, systems planning for workstations and mobile computing. Recent research has involved customer satisfaction for an Internet service provider, developmental research for medical information systems, concept tests for network management and idea generation sessions for applications of new technologies. Recent clients include Verio, SignalSoft, PSINet, ICG, Lexis-Nexis, Hewlett-Packard, Micromedex, U.S. Department of Defense, Lucent, Microsoft, IBM and Apple. In telecommunications, he has directed numerous studies of new products and services. Some of the areas in which he has conducted qualitative and quantitative research include business services such as cellular telephone services, wireless data and Internet services. He has also conducted research among consumers, businesses and carriers on such topics as network services offerings, billing services and data networks. Recent clients in market research for telecommunications have been Motorola, Nextel, U S WEST, Pacific Telesis, AirTouch Communications, SNET, Sprint, AT&T, Cantel, Cellular One and GTE. |
In addition to IT and telecom, he has extensively researched the areas of financial services, cable television and energy use/deregulation. Selected clients include the Bank of Montreal, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, CableData, MediaOne, the National Petroleum Council, General Electric Power Systems and Colorado Springs Utilities. He delivered the keynote address on home automation at the Consumer Electronics Show as part of his work with the Electronic Industries Association. METHODOLOGIES In qualitative research, he has moderated numerous focus groups and on-site interviews on technical as well as non-technical topics. He has conducted one-on-one interviews with executives at senior levels of business and government, as well as with engineering and technical staff. Rusty Campos has broad experience using quantitative research methodologies ranging from surveys to choice modeling, market segmentation and perceptual mapping. He uses this experience to provide a smooth transition from qualitative to quantitative stages of research. CREDENTIALS Dr. Campos has a Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a B.A. in psychology from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. He has taught psychology, statistics and research design. He served as Department Chair at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, the Association for Computing Machinery and the American Statistical Association. |
